Gallotti & Radice is an old company that was founded in 1955 with the intent of recreating, transforming, and reinterpreting the design world. The two founders were Luigi Radice and Pierangelo Gallotti, two associates which loved design and wanted to start creating artistic pieces that mattered. Timeless pieces. Today, the company is a family-owned business that creates all kinds of furniture, starting from small chairs and going all the way up to big beds and wardrobes.
The Italian company is extremely proud of their heritage and they retain a very familiar look even after so many years of doing business. Their pieces are extremely contemporary and their main focus lies in working with crystals. In fact, the company was the first Italian company to hone in on these materials and find a balance between traditional design and new techniques, Not many at the time would do as much research on the subject as Gallotti & Radice did which is why they have built a name for themselves in the first place. Their heritage is part of the Made in Italy excellence and their history is proof of the passion that lies beneath every single piece.
With a shared passion for glass and the will to create, interpret and transform, founders Pierangelo Gallotti and Luigi Radice started in 1955 an ideas studio dedicated to glass decoration. This is where tradition and innovation combined to create the first one-off pieces of furnishing items, lighting appliances and mirrors that are all made exclusively by hand.
In 1956, the founding members decided to expand the collection by acquiring more knowledge in design and decoration. It was then that Gallotti&Radice was born.
The company works in collaboration with designers and design houses from different outlooks and backgrounds. These include Monica Armani, Gabriele e Oscar Buratti, Decoma Design, and Pinuccio Borgonovo.
Today, Gallotti & Radice continues to uphold their reputation for developing "genuine" glass designs with patience, reverence, love and tenacity.
Gallotti & Radice was the first Italian company to experiment and promote their love for the use of glass in furniture. Most of their products are characterised by detailed production that involves continuous research and understanding of work processes involved.
Not just anybody can achieve the level of workmanship that Gallotti & Radice demands. This means only extremely high-level craftsmen who are familiar with glass are employed.
The company uses a process called float, where fused glass is drained into a watertight float straight from the oven. This allows the glass to float on the surface, level out, and become a strip with parallel aspects. Combined with various techniques and technologies, Gallotti & Radice produces semi-finished goods that are then used to create the end products, either made entirely of glass or a combination of glass and wood, metal, and other materials.
The company has two production lines, one focused on traditional handcraftsmanships and another that uses sophisticated automated mechanisms and high-level technologies. Whichever is used, Gallotti & Radice guarantees products that are 100% Made in Italy.
