Foscarini is a very famous design lighting company in Italy. This company was founded in 1981 on the island of Murano, Venice. The world-renowned location is famous for its Murano glass which by all means is used on most Foscarini products to this day. Producing decorative lamps isn't just Foscarini's job though, it's their absolute passion. Foscarini lights are conceived as design objects that transform spaces. Foscarini was set up in 1981 on the beautiful island of Murano in Venice. 3 years after, the brand launched its first collection of lamps designed by Alessandro Vecchiato and Carlo Urbinati. What followed after this is a journey of light and brightness, with many innovations in between.
In 1992, Foscarini introduced a collection of lamps made of industrial glass, and in 1993, another collection made of polythene. Along with a commitment to quality and excellence, the company was the first ever in the industry to receive the UNI EN ISO 9001 quality system certification.
Today, Foscarini is a multi-awarded brand, awarded with the Compasso d’Oro for “the bold technological innovation” of its 2001 collection called MITE and TITE. It also gained the Environmental Quality Certification UNI EN ISO 14001, and the ADI XXII honourable mention for the Infinity installation.
Foscarini’s lighting collections are either designed by its in-house team of designers, or in collaboration with other world-renowned designers, such as Rodolfo Dordoni, Ferruccio Laviani, Joseph Forakis and Marc Sadler.
Design and innovation are at the heart of every Foscarini lighting fixture. Most of its projects start with a technological and creative workshop, where some of the greatest designs are conceived. Placing a high value on quality and excellence, a product’s development phase can take years to complete, with progressive research in the midst of it all. The brand doesn’t settle with just any material, they analyse them, along with processes, shapes and operating modes.
