Budgeting for a modern bedroom storage solution and want to know, how much does it cost to have a walk-in wardrobe built?
The simple answer is, it depends. How much you pay will be influenced by factors such as size, design and the materials you opt for. You can pay as little or as much as suits your budget. Interestingly, the most expensive walk-in wardrobe to date cost just over £140 000!
Generally, the larger the build and the more complicated the design, the more you can expect to pay for it. But, you can design a fairly large wardrobe for a reasonable amount if you stick to hanging rails, basic shelves and entry-level doors.
At FCI, all the frames of our custom luxury walk-in wardrobes are made from the same high-quality material. However, we offer a wide range of customisation options that will determine the overall look and price of your closet.
We pride ourselves on having something for everyone with a catalogue that caters for entry-level, mid-range and premium wardrobes. For example, a standard-sized, melamine-finished, 2-door hinged wardrobe is the least expensive design in our range, giving you a good quality solution in a simple yet classy design.
We encourage you to take advantage of our online wardrobe cost calculator to get an idea of how much you will pay for the different style variations. Opting for sliding doors will add a little more to that base price, as will the internal components that you select. Likewise, adding jewellery trays, trouser rods, pulldown hanging rails and tie racks, will also increase the cost.
In addition, door handles are also customisable and thus contribute to the final price. Again you are spoiled for choice on your preferred door handle - you can choose from a range of materials including metal, skin (leather) and wood - all of which will come at a different price tag.
A walk-in wardrobe can make your life simpler and more comfortable. By installing hair dryers, mirrors and other essentials into your closet, you can create a highly functioning dressing room that will cut down your dressing time significantly.
Secondly, it is almost impossible to maintain a neatly organised wardrobe when you have everything crammed into a tiny space. A walk-in closet solves this by giving you ample space to divide your belongings and give each item a place within reach and within sight for when you need it. Because you have more storage space, walk-ins promote ventilation which helps prevent the development of damp and mould.
Lastly, by hanging your clothes freely, they are less prone to creasing and any damage that can come from rubbing against other fabrics.
One of the reasons many people are hesitant to take on home improvement (price aside) is that the process seems too complicated. How do you choose the right contractor? How do you make sure their vision aligns with yours? How do you make sure everything you want gets done on time?
Firstly, you need to understand what you want. You can't effectively share your vision with your contractor if you don't know what it looks like. You don't need to know all the details, but having an idea of what you want is essential.
For inspiration, browse our collection of walk-in wardrobe options to see the latest trends in contemporary wardrobe designs. But remember, each wardrobe that we create is a bespoke design specific to your budget, style and requirements.
When it comes to making your choice, think about how you would choose a specialist surgeon. You'd want someone with multiple successful surgeries under their belt over a new doctor - the same goes for your wardrobe contractor. Experience matters.
We have been designing and fitting luxury wardrobes for nearly 40 years and we have many happy customers who can testify to our professionalism. We've built a very personal approach to all our projects, ensuring that we deliver high-quality, exceptional wardrobes every time.
The construction process for walk-in wardrobes is generally short with small projects being completed in a day. Naturally, larger, more complicated closets may take more time.
Though our fitters work neatly and in an orderly manner, we advise our customers to cover or move away any fragile furniture in the room where construction will take place. During the fitting, there will be some drilling and possibly the use of paint or glue, so if the noise or chemicals affect anyone in the home, it may be best for them to leave the premises until the work is done.
The cost of a walk-in wardrobe will vary depending on size, design and materials used. Depending on your budget, you can choose from our entry-level, medium-range or premium luxury wardrobes.
Regardless of the design you choose, you can be guaranteed a high-quality product, designed and fitted by our friendly experts. Get in touch with us today to find out more about our process, and how we go above and beyond for each of our clients. We look forward to chatting about your dream project!
