2. Use a light colour palette to brighten up the space

Light and bright work so well! Your built-in wardrobe may stand out more and make the room seem bigger when you keep your colour palette light and airy. White, sandstone, beige and grey are all popular shades. 

Painting your wardrobe is a good way to get a new finish, as is adding new doors. This also gives you creative license to play around with the tone, textures and accessories for the rest of the room.

3. Install sliding doors for a contemporary look

A fantastic way to update any room is to play around with the style of the doors for built-in wardrobes

Wardrobes with sliding doors are an easy way to modernise an existing built-in wardrobe and make a space look more contemporary and functional, especially if there is limited space for doors that swing open.

4. Add new features, such as mirrors or shelves, to complete the look
